After a few great sessions up at the lake catching on a Brassie Buzzer over the last few weeks (and a not so good Bewl boat session!) and with fish feeding on buzzers I thought I’d tie up some more scruffy style buzzers. It’s also a great excuse to try out my new cameras macro lens.
I like the idea of scruffy buzzers. They’re a bit more suggestive, sink slower and can sit just under the surface film for longer – perfect for trout feeding just under the surface. The last few weeks at the lake have seen trout feeding a lot near the surface and they’ve been hard to catch on any kind of emerger pattern. But scruffy buzzers just below the surface seem to have worked where normal shinny buzzers haven’t. Maybe the shinny buzzers cut through the water too quickly and get below the fish. Whatever it it is, this style seems to work so here are a few new ones I’ve tied up.
