Time to invest in a new landing net. I bought my current one when I first started fishing and while it has done okay, its quite big, heavy and the folding mechanism has stuck. I also had the feeling that I was being too immobile, often finding a spot and staying in one place for hours on end.
So, I decided I wanted something smaller, lighter which I could hook onto my belt or a d-ring and would be easy to launch when needed. After trying out a few option at Sportfish Reading, I decided on the Mclean Folding Ejector Tri Net. It folds up into a small bundle which is easily clipped onto a belt and is light and easy to flick into position. It also has an ejector button on the handle to extend the length.
I’d love to tell you how it worked with an actual fish but I blanked on my first outing with it! However, it worked well from a portability perspective!
Flippin’eck! Looks great! Should be for that price! Although I’m just a cheapskate and paid £15 for my magnetic Leeda scoop net. Will see how that works next week.
