Tied up some new buzzers (and a black spider/crunch nymph) ahead of a little soiree to Draycote Reservoir this weekend. Quite like the double-rib effect, which is gained by tying black silk around the hook, then some white flexi-floss and finally ribbing some red wire around in-between. Also purchased some goose biots recently which work really nice as wing cases on the thorax.
Nice flies! I need to add some of my recent ones soon, been tying a lot of natural old fashioned style flies for the local pool. I also came across these the other day on Rob Densons website. They look fantastic and very close to the natural buzzer look. I’ve ordered some spanflex so will give them a try soon. You can see more on his website, its worth a read and there’s a link to a PDF of the original article to.
